Austin, get ready for October 22nd, the National Day of Protest Against Police Brutality!
Since 2020, over 8,000 people of been murdered by the police. Police Brutality in the US is baked into every level of government and this system. It is a fundamental tool, along with mass incarceration, to keep Black and other oppressed people down, controlled and subjected in this society. This is most apparent in East Austin, where APD regularly harasses, brutalize, and arrest the people living there. At the same time, state troopers plague the city alongside ICE to hunt down immigrants, before they are thrown into torturous concentration camps.
We are uniting all who can be united in this struggle against state violence, while leaving behind lying politicians, grifter lawyers and opportunist political forces.
